Swim Banquet Mon-29-Mar

The Eagles Swim Banquet will take place Monday, March 29, at 6:30pm in the Lower Commons at the high school. The team will provide paper products and drinks. Food assignments are as follows:
  • Freshman: vegetable or potato dish
  • Sophomores: main dish
  • Juniors: dessert
  • Seniors: salad or fruit
The evening will include award presentations. And please, despite its capacity to exemplify good manners to teenage boys, we ask that you leave the family dog at home.

Banquet Slideshow Contributions

If you have any photos you'd like to contribute to the banquet slideshow, please email them to pvanderlei@gmail.com. Please send just your best photos, not every one you took this season. Also, we favor close-ups and photos with identifiable faces. The deadline for contributions is Thursday, March 25. The banquet is Monday, March 29.

Urgent Request from State Meet Hotel

For those families with a reservation at the Hampton Inn Ann Arbor North for the state meet, the hotel is overbooked for rooms with two beds. So they are asking if any of us would be willing to take a room with one king bed. They are asking that you please phone them ASAP if you can do this. You must call before Monday night. Please call them ASAP at: 734-996-4444.

State Meet Info

For those swimmers and families attending the state meet, here is the info you need to know.
Thu-11-Mar
  • Athletes dismissed from school after 6th hour.
  • Practice at Calvin: 2:00pm - 3:30pm.
  • Athletes depart from GRCHS immediately after practice.
Fri-12-Mar
  • Spectator seating area opens: 10:15am We recommend you be at the doors by 10:00am.
  • Parking is not free on Friday. You must park in one of the green lots on this map, preferably lot D3, although you may be able to park in parking structure D11. The pool is building #29 on the map. Enter thru building #27 near the two triangles. There will be signs showing the way on Friday. The lots are always crowded, and it's a 5-10 minute walk from parking to the pool. We strongly recommend car pooling.
  • Prelims admission: $7; Program: $3.
  • Swimming prelims start: 12:00pm
  • Diving prelims start: 4:00pm (approx.)
  • Athletes, families & friends dinner: time TBD. We'll eat together in a meeting room at the hotel. There will be a $5-10 per family fee - please RSVP and pay Jean Arent Friday at the meet so she can order the right amount of food.
  • Adults only drinks and appetizers: time TBD. We'll meet in one of the hotel rooms. BYOB and a snack to share.
Sat-13-Mar
  • Please check out of the hotel before departing for the meet.
  • Spectator seating area opens: 10:15am
  • Parking is free on Saturday. You can park in any lot.
  • Finals admission: $7; Program: $3.
  • Meet starts: 12:00pm
  • After the meet, athletes have the option of riding home in the team vans or arranging their own ride with friends or family. Please let the coaches know your plans.

Shave Meet Details


Those swimmers planning to attend the shave meet tomorrow, be at school at 3:45pm tomorrow to catch the bus for Holland Aquatic Center.

Shave Practice for Band Members

Practice is at Calvin today with a 6:00pm start time. For those swimmers who will miss practice tonight because of the band concert, here is a practice for you to do on your own.
